Few people have time to see a dermatologist for egular skin checks and currently many skin lesions remain undiagnosed with potentially disastrous consequences. While massage therapists come into contact with their clients' skin, they cannot make medical diagnoses.

Telederm is an innovative service that uses modern echnology including the internet and digital dermoscopy to provide spa guests with access to Board certified dermatologists. This service allows massage therapists to make a permanent photographic record of any skin lesion of concern and to obtain a remote diagnosis from a dermatologist.

Such a service can provide reassurance and/or advice on appropriate follow-up, saving the guest time and money. A timely diagnosis could also potentially save their life.

  
 
 

Client > Details > Consent > Register

Once a client decides to use the TeleDerm service, their basic contacts details are entered into the TeleDermSpa system and they are asked to sign a consent form. A registration email and SMS is then sent to the client with their TeleDerm account details.

  
 

 

 
 

> History > Locate > Bodymap > Image

A brief history is taken to provide context for the Dermatologist and the areas of concern are identified on a digital body map. The trained staff then takes images of each area of concern with a one touch digital microscope

  
 

 

 
 

> Submit > Diagnose > Notify

After the images are taken, the clients case is uploaded to the TeleDermSpa Online Dermatology System and the dermatologist is alerted that a new case is waiting.

The Dermatologist logs in and reviews the case history and images. A diagnosis is recorded for each area of concern and a final report is generated. The client is then notified by Email and SMS that their report is ready to be accessed.

  
 

 

 
 

> Review

The client visits the TeleDermSpa Online Dermatology System and logs in using their secure account details. They are able to review the diagnosis and/or forward it to their personal physician if required. If the client does not login within 7 days the case can be escalated to a healthcare professional who will attempt to follow-up with the client if appropriate.
